What’s in my (new) camera bag?

I’ve been on the hunt for a new camera bag for some time as my old Canon bag no longer fit all the gear I’ve aquired. I’d narrowed the list down to a few I liked that didn’t look overly masculine or scream “steal me” like some camera bags do. I wanted something feminine but not over the top girly.

On the top of my list were brands like Jo Totes, Jill-E bags, Kelly Moore and my favorite Epiphanie bags. Of course, many were well out of my price range, but if you know me, you know I like to haggle for a good deal … so I took my time and religiously searched Ebay for the perfect used bag. And last week I found it – the Epiphanie Clover bag in nude! I won’t tell you what I paid, but it was well under the several hundred dollar price tag when it was available.

Isn’t she perfect! I love the detailing on this bag, the braided straps and all the pockets for storage! Here’s a peek at the inside of the bag with all my gear in it:

So, just what’s in my bag?

Well, my Canon 80D DSLR for starters. I recently upgraded to this body from the Rebel T3i and love it. There’s been a slight learning curve, but I’m getting more and more comfortable with it every time I shoot with it. I had purchased an off-brand vertical battery grip to extend the shoot time of my battery and provide a vertical shutter release, but after using it for a few weeks, all of the buttons on my camera stopped working with the grip installed. Once I removed it and replaced the single battery, everything worked great again. So, it looks like I will be saving my money and buying the Canon Vertical Battery Grip when I can afford it.

There’s also plenty of room for my lenses – in fact, all of them fit in there with ease! I’ve got my two kit lenses – the Canon 18-55mm and Canon 55-250mm. I’ve also got my two prime lenses – my Canon 50mm f/1.8 and my Yongnuo 35mm f/2. I also have my favorite lens – the Canon 60mm f/2.8 macro.

I just recently upgraded my speedlite to the Canon 430EX II, which is a nice step up from the Neewer off-brand I’d been struggling to get by with for the last six months! Absolutely worth the investment, though I rarely shoot with flash, it’s nice to have!

The zipper pocket on the inside of the bag is perfect for storing my extra SD cards. I swear by this Lexar card. I buy the 32GB ones – I can fit a lot of images on each and if for some reason something goes wrong with one, it’s nice to have extras to swap out in the middle of a shoot! The write speed on this card is 95mb/sec which means less lag time as the camera writes to the card and the faster I can shoot off frames.

I also always carry this great lens cleaning kit because you never know when you’re going to need to get that speck of dirt off your lens or someone’s grubby little fingers happen to touch your glass!

This bag is also designed to hold my 15-inch MacBook Pro, which is a nice plus. I sometimes slip my Apple iPad in the slot so I can refer to pose ideas on the go from my Pinterest boards.

So, there you have it … my stylish new bag and all the gear that fits in it! I also bought the same bag in lime green as well as I’m that fond of it – It’s always nice to have options! Of course, I’m still lusting after the not-yet-released Epiphanie Quinn bag in Dark Grey … wondering what it would take to get the company to let me do a sponsored review of it before it comes out?

So tell me – what’s in your camera bag? And what’s your favorite tote to haul your gear?

What a gorgeous camera bag! My husband is an amateur photographer and he always has at least 2-3 lenses in his bag when we go places. You never know when you’ll need a different lens to get a great shot!

This is great. As a new blogger, I have been doing a lot of research on good camera equipment and what types of things I need to invest in. This list is really helpful!
