Something for the weekend

This week has been a little rough, I’m not gonna lie. I’ve been struggling with some depression and haven’t really done much of anything besides take care of the kids and keep the house clean. We had a nice visit with my parents on Sunday and Hannah got some much-loved roller skates for her birthday from them, along with a bunch of fun art supplies to add to her collection!  Monday it snowed again and let’s just say I’m way over winter here. It can be spring anytime. This mug just about sums up how I feel about life right now… (perhaps another visit to the doctor is in order to get my meds adjusted?).

This week, I’ve been:

  • Buying more pajamas, because who can ever have too many, especially when you live in them when you’re not working? I bought this pair from Target and they are the softest, comfiest pants out there!
  • Adding a few new items to my very basic capsule wardrobe for spring, like this tunic by Knox Rose which will pair perfectly with my black leggings.
  • Cleaning up the photo studio so I can hopefully get a couple of shots of the girls today in their matching St. Patrick’s Day t-shirts from The Children’s Place. I’ve got to figure out a good way to store all my vinyl backdrops because what I’ve been doing is too time-consuming and they’re just getting crumpled up on the sofa downstairs.
  • Buying these Buddhist prayer beads from an Etsy seller in China. They’ll be perfect on my altar and for photo shoots of tarot cards.
  • Getting ready to dive into Kelly Rae Robert’s Hello Soul, Hello Mixed Media Mantras art class. I bought it back in January and am looking to finally get the necessary supplies and work through the lessons.
  • Excited to explore the content in one of my favorite artist/bloggers Alisa Burke’s The Art of Blogging, currently on sale for $35! I took her photography course and learned so much and I’ve got two other art journaling classes I’ve yet to tackle that I purchased but I can say that for the price, she gives you SO much information with beautiful examples of what she’s teaching. Well worth spending the money, in my opinion!

So tell me, how was your week? What’s been inspiring you? Drop me a comment and let me know – I’d love to connect with you!

Yay for new pajamas! Happy Weekend!

    • Jen

Thank you! Happy weekend to you too!

My week was filled with taking care of a toddler with a fever. Thankfully he is better now but with a fever of 106 every morning it was a scary, stressful week. I love the PJ pants you purchased–PJ’s are some of my favorite things–because I basically live in them when I am not going anywhere!

    • Jen

Oh boy! I hope your toddler is feeling better. Sick kids are so sad – you feel so helpless. I hope you had a nice weekend and a better week!

  • Jessica Peresta

I love new pajamas! I would live in pajamas if it weren’t socially unacceptable.

    • Jen

Absolutely – me too! Don’t tell, but I sometimes wear my pajamas to drop my youngest off at daycare in the morning if I’m having a “me” day at home by myself 🙂

Good week here. We had snow, but it didn’t stay very long. Happy that today is the first day of spring! I’m on the hunt for some pjs for this season.

  • Anna nuttall

I hoped you had a lovely weekend. I love wearing new pajamas. xx

    1. Those prayer beads are gorgeous.
    2. There’s always room in my budget for new pajamas/leggings. LOL!
    3. Checking out that blogging course NOW!

    • Jen

I had a little bit of time to delve into the blogging course and it looks really well done. A lot of info for the cost. Her other courses have been so inspiring, and I’m sure this one is too!

  • Danielle

Sorry to hear about the rough week, I hope that your weekend was amazing!

    • Jen

Thank you – it was. I worked (I’m an L&D nurse) and we had some busy, eventful nights that made our shifts go by very quickly! I hope you had a good weekend too!

  • Patricia

You know, I never buy pajamas! I sleep in a collection of sweats and old tees. Lol. But maybe I should treat myself! I love this mug too and hope you’re having a better week!

    • Jen

Yes, definitely treat yourself – you deserve it! 🙂 This week is going much better, thank you!

  • Nicole Flower

I was just at Target yesterday in hopes to buy new pajamas, but I didn’t see these! Maybe next time. And, I love your mug my hubby has the same one, but it says, ” #1 dad” on it and it is his fave!
    xo, Nicole
