Fire-breathing dragon shirt

Here is the little guy’s shirt, as promised. While I was whipping up a bunch of appliquéd onesies, my son Isaac asked for a fire-breathing dragon shirt. Fortunately, I had this blank blue shirt on hand for some sort of project, and this fit the bill perfectly. I haven’t been able to post it before then because he insisted on wearing it before I could …

Moving on

This has been my view, 40 hours a week, for the past two years. Tonight, I said goodbye as I finished my last page-editing shift, hauled my boxes and plants out to the car and turned in my ID badge and keycard. I thought I’d have stronger feelings about this, but it doesn’t feel overly happy or sad, it just feels right. Like life is …

Sew… I couldn’t resist!

On my second-to-last-day at work, I ran over to the John Michael Kohler Arts Center to grab a quick bite to eat. Now this is always a treat, because while I’m waiting for my to-go order, I can browse in the giftshop. Admittedly, this is also dangerous, because about 1/2 of the time, I find myself whipping out the plastic and buying something. Fortunately, it’s …

Flights of Fancy

I am absolutely adoring these butterfly punch note cards. They’re smaller than my usual cards, but perfect for sending someone a quick “I love you.” The red butterflies are punched out of paper stamped with “X” and “O” on it. The other paper coordinates well with the red paper, having little bits of red, green, and pinks in it. I’m thinking about listing these on …

New stuff in the shop!

I managed to get a couple new sets of cards in the shop. The cards are constructed using photographs of Junkyard Art at LaKenenland – a drive-through sculpture garden created by artist Tom LaKenen. The card measures approximately 5×7 inches with a 1/2 –inch border around the photograph and comes packaged in a poly bag with white envelope. Check them out here: Junkyard Art Cards-Multicolored …

And another project…

Here’s another project I was working on not that long ago, just hadn’t gotten around to posting. This is the July featured craft for Wismoms.com magazine, a printed publication that contains some of the information located on the Web site Wismoms.com, which is an online publication geared toward mothers of children ages 2-11 in Wisconsin. For the last 18 months, I have written a monthly …

Time for a quick project

My quick little project of the afternoon is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while – turn some of my vintage scrabble tiles into key chains. I only have one of the actual key chain pieces, but a bunch of the jump rings. Now that I know my hand held drill works just fine for this project, I guess I’ll be making some …

Funny how time flies by

Well, I started out tonight with big plans to churn out a bunch of crafts. Instead, I spent about 90 minutes wandering around Hobby Lobby before buying about $12 in craft supplies – some paper, embroidery thread, a pattern and a refill for my sticker machine. Then I ran back home, before realizing that my my one travel mug is still falling apart despite numerous …

Finally!

I’ve finally got two blank cards and two sets of three cards listed in my Etsy shop! It wasn’t as difficult as I thought it might be, and it would be a heck of a lot easier if I could figure out how to batch upload or upload an item for sale based off a previous item listed. (There has to be a way…) Now, …

You can find anything on Etsy!

Check out what arrived in my mailbox this afternoon – a Therapeutic Moist Heat Combination Flaxseed and Rice Neck Wrap Eye Pillow Set Lavender Scented with Amy Butler Fabric. It is AWESOME! I’ve been having a ton of neck/shoulder pain that just doesn’t seem to get better, so I thought I’d give this a try. And really, let’s be honest, who could see this great …
