Something for the weekend

Something for the weekend - Well, I had been hoping for a quiet weekend at work last weekend, but it was anything but! Here's to hoping that we can slow down this weekend! We're just planning on hanging out as a family ... my son has solo ensemble on Saturday and my parents are going to come up for a visit sometime this weekend too, so both should be nice.

DIY glass marble magnets

Today I'm going to show you how I made these super simple DIY glass marble refrigerator magnets. This is a project I've made many times over. Over the years, some of my previous ones had fallen apart or gotten lost, so I thought it was time for a new batch. These are so inexpensive to make and they make great gifts too!

A girl’s room makeover on a budget

One of the things that's long been on my to-do list is to decorate the girls' room. When we moved in August, we just kinda put all their stuff in there with plans to decorate at some point. Ella's need to move out of our master bedroom was just the kick in the pants I needed to start getting things done.

Tarot deck review: The Magical Realism tarot

I really like this deck. It's unique. It captures the beauty between photography and digital editing beautifully. She shoots and then works in Photoshop to achieve the ethereal look of the cards. A good word for them would be "dreamy."

I treated myself to another new tarot deck – the Magical Realism tarot by Cheryl Fair on Etsy. This deck was created in 2014 and published in January 2015. The Magical Realism tarot is another rather dark deck, in my opinion. (Anyone seeing a trend here?). The 78 card deck comes beautifully packaged with a black velvet drawstring storage bag for the cards and the …

Something for the weekend

Something for the weekend - Jennadesigns

Last week was a fun one with everyone getting used to Wally, our new kitty. He’s an absolute lover and always wants to snuggle, which I adore. He and the dog aren’t too fond of each other. Wally will let Kenai get about a foot away before he hisses, arches his back and takes a swing at his nose! Kenai has been pretty good about …

Jennadesigns reader survey – Take a moment to help me out!

Jennadesigns reader survey - please take a moment to help me out and let me know what you do and don't like or want to see more of in the future!

Please take a few moments of your time and fill out the Jennadesigns reader survey I created. I’d really appreciate all the feedback I can get as I’m looking to make this site the best it can be in 2017! I promise it will only take five minutes of your time and your responses will go a long way to helping me determine the direction …

Where I’m at right now: A little depression check in

It's been a while since I've blogged about my depression. I last addressed it here back in May of last year. Things, for the most part, have been good until just recently. It seemed my psychiatrist and I had found a combination of medication that works really well, when you remember to take them.

Starting a “Mommy & Me” journal with my daughter

I wanted a way to stay connected with Hannah even when we couldn't get out and do something together, something that showed her just how much I was thinking about her, how much I appreciated her and how much I loved her.

Ever since Ella was born nearly two years ago, my almost 8-year-old Hannah has had to give up a lot of attention, which she’s done with absolute grace. Hannah has the hugest, kindest heart and she always puts her little sister first. Many times, just due to Ella’s age, Hannah loses out on my attention. I feel bad every time this happens. Because I know …

This week’s new tarot deck is the The Zombie Tarot: An Oracle of the Undead with Deck and Instructions. I picked it up off eBay, but it’s also available on Amazon. How to pack the perfect diaper bag (with free printable!)

This shop has been compensated by CollectiveBias, Inc. on behalf of its advertiser, ZonePerfect. #MyLittleWins #CollectiveBias Let’s face it – life with a toddler is not always easy. Simple things like a trip to the grocery store become expeditions – getting her dressed and in a coat and shoes, buckling her into the car seat, getting to the store, unloading her from the car, buckling …
