DIY Photo Prop: Floral Crowns and Headpieces

Here's another in my series of DIY photo props! I'm always on the lookout for gorgeous photography props I can use in photo shoots. Over the past six months or so, I've amassed quite the collection of headbands, hats, and a few floral crowns. The few floral crowns I have are okay, but they're nothing special. I decided it would be a fun project for Hannah, my 8-year-old, and I to purchase supplies and make our own deluxe floral crowns for my photography adventures.

Showcasing children's artwork - 16x20-inch poster template & directions (Photoshop)

As any parent knows, children have a way of creating lots of art work in a short amount of time, starting from the time they’re a toddler and continuing well throughout elementary school. Realistically, it’s not possible to save every work of art. But that doesn’t mean you have to get rid of it altogether. I’ve come up with a beautiful way to showcase your …

How to organize your digital photos: A system that works!

Follow my simple step-by-step process to getting all your photos organized digitally! - Jennadesigns

I don’t know about you, but until I organized my photos a couple months ago, I had images everywhere – my computer, my phone, my spouse’s phone, in text messages and emails, not to mention on sites like Facebook and Instagram! Freezer paper shirt stencil tutorial

I had some spare time while the baby slept yesterday … just enough to whip up this quick project: a freezer paper stenciled shirt. I saw a cute tee on Instagram with the hashtag #OOTD that I liked. So, rather than shell out $27.50 for it, I decided to make my own. For those of you who don’t know, OOTD stands for “Outfit Of The …

Quilted Zipper Pouch Tutorial

Today I’m going to show you my method of making a quilted zipper pouch. I’m sure there are plenty of tutorials out there, but this is what works best for me. This pouch features two fabrics on the outside, but you could make one with a single fabric, or even more pieced together, provided the final size is 9 x 6 inches. You’re really only …

Crafting with my daughter

I’ve been wanting to make a sign for Hannah’s bedroom door since we moved in here in January. I’d been considering my options, and finally decided on something that she could help me with – crafting with Mama is always more fun than Mama just making something herself, right? Hannah certainly thought so. I purchased a wooden letter “H” for Hannah at Hobby Lobby for …

Label tutorial – how to make your own labels

Creating labels for your handmade projects is probably easier than you might imagine. I know I am not the first person to write such a tutorial, but I thought I’d share my method with you. The labels I’d sewn into the back of Hannah’s pajama pants were from my original Jennadesigns logo, which featured a different font than I use currently. I recently ran out …
