DIY Photo Prop: Floral Crowns and Headpieces

Here's another in my series of DIY photo props! I'm always on the lookout for gorgeous photography props I can use in photo shoots. Over the past six months or so, I've amassed quite the collection of headbands, hats, and a few floral crowns. The few floral crowns I have are okay, but they're nothing special. I decided it would be a fun project for Hannah, my 8-year-old, and I to purchase supplies and make our own deluxe floral crowns for my photography adventures.

Here’s the first in my series of DIY photo props I have planned! I’m always on the lookout for gorgeous photography props I can use in photo shoots. Over the past six months or so, I’ve amassed quite the collection of headbands, hats, and a few floral crowns. The few floral crowns I have are okay, but they’re nothing special. Something for the Weekend: Inspiration & Fun Links!

I love when I can take something I find while thrifting and turn it into the vision I had in my head. This DIY photo prop makeover was the perfect example of that!

This has been a good week my friends, in so many ways! This week I actually felt good enough to start doing some work in our basement studio. I actually got out the drill (whoa, power tools!) and the hardware and got my new backdrop system and rod hung up flush to the wall. It’s adjustable for different size backdrops and will work really well …

Something for the Weekend: Inspiration & Fun Links! - Jennadesigns

This week was another rough one. Fortunately, I’m thinking this coming week will be better – I’m optimistic! I spent most of this week in bed getting IV fluids and just too exhausted to even think of doing anything. Wednesday I met with pain management to come up with a treatment plan for my gastroparesis pain. I kinda stumped them as they’ve never dealt with …

Something for the Weekend: Inspiration & Fun Links

This week was a little bit of a rough one for me. I’m having a hard time dealing with all I’m missing out on with my children because of this illness. I didn’t feel well enough to go to the Fourth of July parade or fireworks … I missed seeing my baby girl’s expression at both of those events for the first time. There’s a …

This week has been a good one overall. Still recovering from my implanted port insertion (you can read about that here). I have a 10 pound weight restriction so that meant Ella had to go to daycare all week. I kept Hannah home with me for most of the week and it was nice to have that mother-daughter bonding time. I got all my home …

Gastroparesis: My experience getting an implanted port

I'm here to tell you what to expect if you're facing getting an implanted port, whether it's for chemo or another disease or disorder (like gastroparesis - read my diagnosis post here) that requires you to get IV fluids or medications on a regular basis and you want to avoid the repeated sticks of the IV needle.

Well, this is me smiling in front of the camera three days after getting my surgically implanted chest port which I’ll be using for IV fluids and medications in the future. As you can tell, I’m pretty bruised up and have a lot of steri-strips covering the stitches. What you can’t see is how sore I am or how much pain I have. I’m actually …

Well, I actually had one really good day this past week and got a lot done – it felt great you guys … just to feel “normal” for one day! I stopped in and visited work (I’m a L&D nurse and have been on disability since April) and it was so nice to see my co-workers for a little bit and reconnect with my boss, …

What’s in my (new) camera bag?

A review of the Epiphanie Clover bag and overview of my photography essentials - Jennadesigns

I’ve been on the hunt for a new camera bag for some time as my old Canon bag no longer fit all the gear I’ve aquired. I’d narrowed the list down to a few I liked that didn’t look overly masculine or scream “steal me” like some camera bags do. I wanted something feminine but not over the top girly. On the top of my …

Something for the Weekend – Inspiration & Fun Links!

Well, the kiddos have officially been out of school for the last week. I now have a third grader and freshman in high school (how did that happen?!). It’s been a quiet last two weeks around here and I haven’t felt well for most of it. I’ve been getting IV fluids at the hospital almost daily and my GI doctor agreed last week to let …

Something for the Weekend: Inspiration & Fun Links

I’ve actually managed to get a lot done this week considering how bad I feel. I ventured into our storage unit and retrieved all the things I no longer need to keep and listed them on Ebay. It feels really good to purge and the extra money helps as I’ve been off work six weeks now and am wondering how to pay bills if this …
